Students will complete their Snow Day Packet #5 for today.

This week's memory verse is:
"May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer." Psalm 19:14

All handouts were sent home last week.

Spelling List 15 Quiz for those who need to take it will be our first day back in class.

History books were left in the classroom.  So here are photos of the pages (I believe they enlarge if you click on them):

January 16th Snow Day Packet

Nontraditional Learning Day
Snow Day Packet

I sent their Snow Day packets home with them yesterday if they were in class.

Please remind them that we will have our second half of our spelling quiz on List 15 when we return.

Their Bible lesson for today is to recite their memory verse.  This will be the memory verse for next week's quiz.  So they haven't seen it yet, and will not be quizzed until next Friday.

Psalm 19:14 "May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer."

Now is a good time to review some skills we've learned in class over the past couple of months.  The following are links to Youtube Videos that would be a good refresher for them.  But they are OPTIONAL to watch.

Math: Division

Math: Greater Than, Less Than, Equal To

Math: 6 Facts (some will roll their eyes at Jack Hartman haha)

Math: 6 Facts Randomized

Language: Capitalization

History: Benjamin Banneker

January 8th Snow Packet

January 8th: Nontraditional Learning Day
Snow Packet

You can access the document below which will allow you to click on any of the links here:

Basically the students will choose ONLY ONE item from each of the three categories.

So they will complete one assignment for Spelling, one for Math, and one for English Language Arts (ELA).  They will access the science video on planets on Youtube.  If you are not comfortable with your child watching a Youtube video, please reach out and I can email you an alternative assignment.

The ELA assignment is on IXL.  I will be messaging each of you, your child's IXL login information on Class Dojo.  They should see the 1/8 Snow Day "quizzes".  They only need to complete ONE of the three options.

So in total they have 4 assignments.  ALL ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE RECORDED FOR A GRADE.
Please don't hesitate to reach out with questions at any time.  I will be checking my phone often throughout the day.

Week of January 6th-10th

Week of January 6th-10th

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

A few things as we move into our second half of the school year.

The 2nd 9 weeks will end on 1/13.

BOOK IT for December will be due the first day we return from break.  They needed to accomplish 150 minutes of reading (or 15 colored stars on their handouts) to achieve their December goal.

We can go ahead and start counting our reading for January now.  I'll give them new forms on Monday. They will need to complete 200 minutes (or 20 colored stars on their handouts) of reading to achieve their goal for January.

Our class is a bit low on pencil supplies.  If you could send in a small box of plain #2 pencils for the class supply that would be greatly appreciated.

Spelling List 15

Keep in mind that they can write their words 2 times in cursive for 4 bonus points, or 2 times in print for 2 bonus points (4 points maximum)

The weather is looking like it could disrupt our schedule.  The goal is to have a practice quiz on the first ten words (highlighted in yellow) on Tuesday, and then a trial quiz on the last ten words (highlighted in blue) on Thursday.  But we may need to resort to one practice quiz on Thursday if we don't have school.

No Bible Memory Verse this week.

I will keep you posted on homework assignments on DOJO as we navigate the week.

Praying everyone has had a wonderful break! I cannot wait to see those little faces.
